The Killers is a Las Vegas band consisting of vocalist Brandon Flowers, guitarist David Keuning, bassist, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci; the band formed in 2002 with their first album Hot Fuss debuting in 2004. Hot Fuss picked up speed quickly with singles Mr. Brightside, Somebody Told Me, All These Things That I’ve Done, and Smile Like You Mean It. The band gained global success with Mr. Brightside being their most popular song to date. The band has since then released five albums including their newest release Wonderful Wonderful.

After producing four albums following Hot Fuss, the band took a five year break following their album Battle Born which was released in 2012. The Killers announced their new album in 2017, sparking conversations and excitement about the band’s new album and their change from previous albums. With songs from Hot Fuss streaming on radios globally decades after its debut, there was no doubt about Wonderful Wonderful being successful. Shortly following their announcement of the new album, the band released two singles: The Man and Run For Cover. The two songs gained popularity through alternative radio stations and definitely fulfilled fans’ expectations.

The Killers has been known as an iconic alternative-rock band with Mr. Brightside being on the top 100 charts in Europe decades after its debut. Wonderful Wonderful debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with approximately 118,000 album sales upon its release. The album was the most successful album released by the band as far as debut rankings are concerned.

Wonderful Wonderful has a sound unlike any other album the band has released with songs like The Calling, Tyson vs Douglas, and Life To Come. The album’s title track starts with an intense bass introduction with Flowers’ matching pace perfectly; at first listen, the track is eccentric and very different from other songs, but it is an excellent predecessor to the rest of the album.

The album was released globally on September 22, 2017. It’s varying sounds and alternative-rock foundation highlights the band’s talent throughout. The Killers have been relevant since the early 2000’s and have proved worthy of praise and acclamation with the release of Wonderful Wonderful.
