The new live action film of the year has arrived and it is no other than ‘Beauty and the Beast’, which is known to be a Disney Princess classic. I believe the movie lived up to its high expectations through the outstanding casting, the incredible music, and of course the unbelievable animation and set design that brought the magic to life.

Of course with a princess as iconic as Belle, there was a lot of pressure to who would portray such a memorable character. No one could have possibly done the role justice (except for the original Belle herself) than the breath-taking talent that is Emma Watson. Watson brought out an even more empowering light to Belle and gave an unforgettable performance with just about every scene she starred in. This cast was filled with incredible musical talent such as Luke Evans, Emma Thompson, Audra McDonald, and many more. I have to say I was shockingly most impressed with Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, he brought so much life to the character, literally, from the smallest line to his grand show when singing ‘Be Our Guest’; his performance was truly capturing. We also can’t forget Dan Stevens’ amazing dedication to his role as the Beast, which is equally as iconic as Belle. Stevens was involved in all of the body and face captures that they used to make the Beast as much as him as possible; which truthfully made the Beast into a real life character that transformed throughout the movie.

Not only did this nostalgic film include exceptional acting, it was simply beautiful to watch. The set designs in this big picture were mesmerizing and purely magical; they take you back in time with the specific details of villages in France to an extraordinary abandoned castle. I not only speak for myself when I say that watching this movie brought me back to my childhood dreams of living in a castle, being a princess, and wearing Belle’s beautiful dress. However, now that we have all grown, I saw in it in a different perspective, and I saw how much love is shown throughout the movie. Love between not only spouses, but also family and friends and the overall kindness that we should all show to each other. Overall, this movie delivered a beautiful message while at the same time proving that Disney magic never ends, I give it a proud 8/10!
