The clock is ticking. Graduation day is closer each day. This is the last page of the journey for the Class of 2018, there are a lot of mixed feeling for the last semester. Many wanted to cherish the last semester, and make more memories with their friends and family. Others wanted to work harder and be accepted by the colleges they applied to.

“I would like to first of all raise my GPA up a little higher by continuing to get mostly A’s in my classes. This is more of a pride thing in all honesty as my GPA isn’t bad at all. I would just like to see how much higher I can get it before I graduate. I also hope to get accepted into the college of my choosing which is Florida State University, where I would study biomedical sciences as the two careers I’m considering right now are nursing and veterinary medicine.” Valerie Husum, 12

“For my last semester, I expect to be working a lot of hours to save up for university, spending time with family, and soaking up all the senior and graduation moments with my best friends.” Abigail Kelly, 12

“I’m excited about my last semester in high school, I feel like this is the time to really find out who you are and what you’re going to do later in your life, while also living in the moment and making as many memorable experiences as possible.” Tilde Olsen, 12

“I feel like a lot of things has changed since freshman year. I have made new friends and lost some and looking back, I’m also a lot different than I was in ninth grade. Seeing that this is my last semester, it gets difficult to remind myself to keep trying ,but I remember that I still need to take AP exams and that I’m not exactly done. I also try to cherish my friends as much as I can since this is my last semester here in high school and some people are leaving to other states or even out the country.” Megan Villanueva, 12

“Everything seems so surreal. I’m excited, but on the other hand, I’m not a child anymore. At a different scale, everyone is going to different places, to work on their different careers. And I’m proud. I’m proud of all my friends who are realizing their dreams.” Sara Urdaneta, 12

“I’m pretty excited about the last semester of high school because this is the last time I will be waking up at 5:30 in the morning to go to school.” Janam Bhatt, 12

“It’s very different from the rest of high school, you try to keep up with homework and extracurriculars but at the same time spending as much time as you can with your friends and family. Last semester is to make memories and enjoy our last moments in this place. I feel I’m ready to graduate and live on my own, I’m pretty excited to all the experiences I’ll get in college.” Ariana Delgado, 12

“I expect to spend time with friends and dedicate more time to my family.” Amaya Bremanutz, 12

“I feel very nostalgic because I don’t want it to end and I am going to miss my friends here, but I am happy that I will be able to go to college and meet new people.” Sebastian Gonzales, 12
