It’s Hoco Proposal Season!

Jordyn Jones and Dalton Wood

“Here’s how the scavenger hunt went: my sister wanted me to take her to Sephora, so we got in my car and the first clue was taped to my steering wheel. It let me to where Dalton and I first met (Beckendorff Junior High School) and when we got to Beckendorff the second clue was there. It let me to my favorite Chinese restaurant, Goldenstix. We drove there and the waitress gave me the next clue which led me to Baskin Robbins, mine and Dalton’s favorite ice cream spot. The final clue led to the high school football field where he was waiting with a huge sign asking me to homecoming! He was waiting with my favorite blue Sonic drink and orange roses.

Dawson Draehn and Annabel Rothwell

While me and my mom were coming up with an idea for asking Annabel, she mentioned that she needed a new pair of running shoes and that’s when we came up with the idea. We thought about it in about 20 minutes and it took us about two days to get all the shoes together. I was super excited. I picked her up in my Jeep and drove to the place where I asked her and my friends were holding up the sign and I asked her right when she saw the sign. I was excited and nervous all in one at the moment of the asking.

The poster is sort of a play on words, it says ‘I’m leafless without you! Will you go to homecoming with me? XO.” It’s a play on words for “lifeless” because since before we started dating last year I’ve always called him tree.

Karsen Callicott and Ryan Tomberlin

I’ve seen a similar proposal with the highlight palate, but I came up with the caption for it. I felt like obviously she was gonna say yes but I was really excited to go with her.
